Privacy Policy

PilotDeck ("the App") is an aviation weather and flight-planning aid for pilots, published by Flight Service SIA ("we", "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the App handles and why. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

1. Data we process

Push-notification data (sent to our server). To deliver METAR/TAF change alerts, the App sends to our server:

your device's Apple Push Notification (APNs) token;
the ICAO codes of the airports you subscribe to;
your notification preferences (e.g. mute / per-route alert settings).

This contains no name, email, account, or personal identity. The APNs token cannot be used to identify you personally and is used only to route weather alerts to your device.

Data stored only on your device. The following never leaves your device (held in local app storage) and is removed when you delete the App:

your saved routes and airport list;
quiz and game progress and scores;
Medication Log entries, including any photos you add (used for on-device text recognition only — photos are never uploaded);
app settings and preferences.

Apple WeatherKit. The "Civil Forecast" feature uses Apple WeatherKit. To return a forecast, the coordinates of the selected airport are sent to Apple. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and Apple's WeatherKit terms. We do not receive or store your location from this.

Camera & Photo Library. Accessed only if you choose to attach a photo to a Medication Log entry. Images are processed and stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to us or any third party.

2. What we do NOT collect

No account, login, name, email or phone number is required or collected.
No device GPS / precise location is requested by the App.
No advertising identifiers, no ad networks.
No third-party analytics, crash-tracking, or behavioural tracking SDKs.

3. Purchases

Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment card details. Purchase validation is handled via Apple's StoreKit. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

4. Data retention & deletion

Your APNs token and airport subscriptions are kept on our server only while you use push alerts; they are removed when you unsubscribe or stop using the App.
All on-device data is deleted when you uninstall the App.
To request deletion of any server-side push data, contact us at the email below.

5. Children

PilotDeck is intended for pilots and aviation enthusiasts and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

6. Security

Data transmitted to our server is limited to the items listed above. We take reasonable measures to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
